Laugfs Car Care, a subsidiary of Laugfs Lubricants Ltd., recently held its annual get-together at the LAYA Beach Resort in Wadduwa.

In addition to the Car Care staff, the event also hosted employees from its sister company, Laugfs Oil, along with other members of the Laugfs Shared Services, attracting over 180 participants.

The annual get-together is a much awaited event in the Car Care calendar and is organized to bring together staff from across the country, strengthening bonds and enhancing camaraderie. It also serves as an occasion to reward and recognize contribution, not only by Car Care staff, but also by the Group’s shared services, such as Group IT, for the immense support rendered throughout the year. Long-time service with the company was also appreciated with awards being presented for employees with more than five years of tenure with Car Care.

Laugfs Car Care Challenge Trophy, the annual cricket tournament was also another much anticipated feature of the day-long event. Eight teams participated this year with seven teams representing members from regional Laugfs Car Care Centres and one team from the Laugfs Lubricants Corporate Office, all battling it out on the field in a spirit of friendly competition for the ultimate Trophy.

Despite a spirited performance from all participating teams, it was the side from Car Care - Koswatta that walked away with the Laugfs Car Care Challenge Trophy, after defeating their counterparts from Negombo in the finals. The Koswatta centre team also bagged all of the tournament’s other major awards, with Chalinda Liyanage being named ‘Man of the Series’ and ‘Best Batsman’ while Sasanka Jayasignhe walking away with the ‘Best Bowler’ award.

The day’s proceedings were rounded off in a celebratory spirit, with the organisers piecing together a special company talent show, which showcased the creative verve of a number of entertaining musical acts.

“I thank all those from Laugfs Car Care who worked tirelessly to make our annual get-together such a resounding success. This year’s event once again served to forge stronger bonds within the organisation’s diverse workforce while also uplifting employees’ morale by giving them a well-deserved break,” said Laugfs Lubricants Director/CEO Dr. Gamini Amarasekara.

“I also feel that it is imperative that we recognise the dedicated service of our team, who has helped Car Care become the respected entity it is today,” he added.

Laugfs Car Care renders quality service with excellent workmanship provided by qualified technicians. Its network of centres provide a comprehensive free inspection and report with expert advice, and offers a broad portfolio of services including lubricant services, car care services, interior and exterior cleaning, engine tuning, vehicle running repairs and wheel alignment, all at a single location. Lube Shops are also located within the Car Care centre premises for customer convenience, offering a range of branded lubricant and car care products.
