A-32-year old mother of one had jumped into Nilwala River from the Mahanama Bridge in Matara in an attempt to commit suicide, the Police said.

The woman, a resident of Morawaka, Neluwa, had visited Matara with her husband, and her 4-year-old son.

The Police said she had allegedly jumped into the river when the husband had gone to a mobile service provider along with the son, to get a detailed bill of the wife’s phone.

However, the woman who was struggling in the water for several minutes was rescued by residents. (Tex and Pix by Krishan Jeewaka Jayaruk)

If there a problem take time be patient and talk calmly and try to solve your problems....even if she has committed something wrong just forgive and simply move on.....who is not wrong.....we all have sinned.....

It does not look a suicide case. It appears as if she has slipped into the river or someone has pushed her into the river. Any how she is safe now.

This shows the human instinct for survival is much stronger than suicide. I am pleased the lady appears to be all right. There is not a single problem that could be solved with suicide, it only make matters worse.

" The Police said she had allegedly jumped into the river when the husband had gone to a mobile service provider along with the son, to get a detailed bill of the wife’s phone."Why does he need a detailed bill? Your guess is as good as mine.
