Video: Marapana resigns

Law and Order Minister Thilak Marapana announced his resignation from the ministerial post a short while ago.  

Holding a special news conference, the Minister announced this decision.

Meanwhile, President Maithripala Sirisena has informed the special Cabinet meeting that he has received the resignation letter of Minister Marapana.

    Your action is appreciated although your continuation in the post would have been untenable. You should now ponder the damage you caused to the parliament, the party,the government and mostly to the country. You should resign from the national list and make way for a honourable person like Mrs Rosy Senanayaka.
