Landslide warning in eight districts

The National Building Research Organization (NBRO) warned of landslides in eight districts if rains continue in the coming days.

Accordingly, people residing in the districts of Hambantota, Badulla, Nuwara Eliya, Kegalle, Kandy, Kalutara, Ratnapura and Matara Districts were requested to be alert for landslides.

Meanwhile, the Department of Meteorology predicted rainfall figures which may go up to 100mm in the Northwestern, Central, Uva, Sabaragamuwa, Western and Southern provinces particularly after 12.00 noon.

Showers were expected several places in the Eastern province during the morning as well. (YP)
