The two youth and young woman, who involved in a brawl as seen in a video which went viral in social media websites, had made a statement regarding the incident to the Katunayake police.

They had told the police that the incident happened in November last year due to a personal reason and that the girl was going to marry one of the boys in the video.

The youth had said they suspect the video may have uploaded to the internet by someone when the mobile phone was given to be repaired.

They had informed the police that no investigation required into the incident.

These two punks should be brought before justice, definitely. Also, the reason for the girl to say no inquiry necessary should also be looked into. Surely, the claim that she is going to marry one of the guys should not be a deterrent to hold back action.

How can police wash their hands like this. Both have admitted the incident of two men beating up the girl I. It is a criminal offense admitted by all involved. They should be brought before Court and charge the two men for assaulting, Though this is a compoundable offense the police do their duty. There is also a role for the Ministry concerning women s rights to take the matter up in the larger interest of women and community .The victim later alleges that she decided to marry one of the assailant is not end of a crime against the society.We are now in yahapalanaya not Mahinda chinthanaya.
