Three lanes means extra costs, which can allow for extra commissions. Are commission givers, if any, now asking to return part given money, if any? Also, if 2 lanes are enough in one direction, why have 3? Did you guys do proper traffic studies to decide on 3 lanes, or did commissions, if any, influence the decisions?

The UPFa should explain how they are going to make the loss making state cooperations and Mattala profitable instead of lying to get votes
Edward Saturday, 25 July 2015 07:29 PM
It woud be really nessary to keep the 3 lane not completed but to open it if need in the futurethanks Edward

Reducing the number of lanes to reduce the cost is a foolish and short sighted initiative. In the future if they want to increase the lanes due to population growth, it going to cost many times than now.

When started a highway to Kandy 1970s some politicians asked why we spend that much money to go in higher elevation. And they told they can go on normal way. Until recent we went under and under compared to otger asian countries. We got rid via DM Android App

No wonder. This govt only knows to reduce the development of this country.

An old saying ...the thickness or swelling must be according to the finger ..small country ..less lanes

Countries with money can build any number of lanes. The number should be determined by future traffic and availability of money NOW, even as loans but which CAN be repaid. Even many US freeways have only two lanes. Every decision must be made on a balance of availability of money and future needs, not by unduly burdening future generations with debts (and commissions). This is the sad truth. Look at the great Rajapaksa airport, harbour and cricket ground if you need examples.
