United National Front for Good Governance General Secretary Patali Champika Ranawaka said today they would decide independently in a future parliament though contesting on the United National Party (UNP) ticket.

He said this at the District Secretariat in Colombo after handing over nominations.

“A real and effective change was brought about because of the political decisions we made in the past. We were able to re-establish democracy in the country while upholding its unitary character,” the minister said.

He said they were also successful in eliminating nepotism, autocracy and corruption. “We will continue the battle against misdeeds from August 18,” Minister Ranawaka said.

The minister a member of the JHU contested the 2010 general election on the UPFA ticket from Colombo. (Lahiru Pothmulla and Darshana Sanjeewa)

Damien, 7 months, barely enough to work out a strategy, but dont you feel that you have no fear now? dont you feel if there is an issue that you can just walk in to a police station and there wont be any politicians or their supporters to interfere? Dont you also witness there are no maniacs driving on the road with a huge MR sticker stuck on their vehicles? this is part of freedom man, now everybody will be happy to pay their taxes.
