Sri Lanka Freedom Party Chairman and President Maithripala Sirisena has not decided to accept or nominate former president Mahinda Rajapaksa as the Prime Ministerial candidate at the next general election, President’s media unit said today.
Issuing a statement it said if the UPFA won the election, the Prime Minister would be appointed after consulting MPs elected to parliament.
The release said no candidate fielded by the Sri Lanka Freedom Party had been nominated as the prime ministerial candidate and that President Sirisena had not agreed about the prime ministerial candidacy.

This is just buffing. If MR can come all the way to be a MP, MY3s consent will not be needed to for him to be the PM due to other SLFP MPs support.
