The former Chief Operating Officer of the Reconstruction and Development Agency (RADA) Saliya Wickremasuriya was arrested by the Police Financial Crimes Investigations Division (FCID) today for allegedly misappropriation of some Rs.130 million in the tsunami funds, police said.
Wickremesuriya was remanded by Colombo Magistrate's Court until May 12.
RADA was established in November 2005 by then President Mahinda Rajapaksa as a Special Agency responsible for overseeing rehabilitation and development following the tsunami and directly responsible to the President.

FCID director (the chief head hunter) himself is crook. So I guess nothing will happen to the head hunters. If you google the DIG name you would learn more about him. He gives PhD degree a bad name.

Many are interested why Mahendran was not taken to rask. There was a report made that appear to be biased. The issue is before SC the highest court and they are independent now. Let us wait for their decision. Let FCID carry on with what is on their hands

OMG. LUCKILY MR WAS NOT RE-ELECTED AS EXEC PRESIDENT. HAD HE BEEN SUCCESSFUL I DO NOT KNOW WHAT CAN HAPPEN TO THE FUNDS OF THE COUNTRY
Martin Saturday, 09 May 2015 08:56 PM
Lets agree that the more these goons start complaining about "political witchhunts" the more backdated the corruption investigations will be. Starting at 2005 sounds like a good starting point for the FCID.

Unfortunately it is the fairness and transparency that the opposition is making use of to complain. Earlier no one dared to complain at all - the famous slave mentality.

That is a good idea. Let us steal as much as possible and look afetr each other - happened since independence
Domiya Saturday, 09 May 2015 10:06 PM
Aiyo Hiran you MR stooge. At least be happy that Saliya has been investigated and arrested after been proven guilty. SImilarly, if Mahendran is also guilty he should be arrested. Stop making petty stupid comments. 130mn USD is not peanuts. And that too from tsunami victims. Saliya should be ashamed. But what to do, directly responsible to the former president. MR been the original tsunami thief was probably behind this too.

Do u first of all blindly believe politically motivated FCID?
