Former JVP leader Somawansa Amarasinghe who left the party recently launched a fast at the Independence Square in Colombo this morning urging the President to probe into the alleged coup on the presidential election night.

Mr. Amarasinghe said legal action should be taken against conspirators in order to protect President Maithripala Sirisena and the people of the country.

I met one of his top commander guy as old as him when he left the party recently. I asked him why Somawansa Amarasinghe has left the JVP. He said he is too old and going senile. I replied all JVPers are senile and he smiled. So Comrade you may have lost your payments from your financiers as you are getting old and useless and your used by date has passed. At least in the days of Czars the the old peasants received food if there were any to be shared. Looks like your Comrades the modern day Czars also are running out of money.

There were only few persons with the Ex President at the early hours of 9th January morning. Since the PM raised alarm about a coup, surely this must have been investigated by now. The question remains why no action has been taken ? Was this a false alarm, if so the public are entitled to know one way or other.It is the PM who should answer the question.We should be thankful to Mr. Somawanse Amerasinghe for keeping the spotlight on the matter.
