Where do we find so called "educated, good, conscientious and disciplined people" . Even if they exists they become crooks after they join politics.

A necessity for this is to keep the public institutions like police and central bank free of political interference. Of course need to keep an eye on the corrupt officials

An MP must at least pass the o-level examination. An MP should be able to read and write. An MP must not be a drug dealer. An MP must not do any business after becoming and MP. A convicted criminal should not be an MP. MP should not be chosen from a Party LIst!

UNP is the party that introduced Duminda as a candidate and the same party got Mervin Silva elected to the parliament for the first time. Most of the funny characters in the parliament came to politics using UNP ticket. Please check you process before commenting.

Now a day the people who want to become MPs are mostly thinking of helping themselves rather than helping the people in the country. We need people who think what they can do for the country than thinking what the country can do for them.

Some of these M.Ps are so honest,I do not understand what they do in politics? They have waited so long, to get a post, surly they must be loving the people so much. Ask any one of them weather they would like to serve the people with out any salaries and what the answer would be?
