The United National Party (UNP) is also behind moves to bring back former President Mahinda Rajapaksa into active politics again, Health Minister Rajitha Senaratne said today.

He said it was in the nature of the UNP to seize opportunities whenever possible.

“The UNP did the same in 1980. They supported Mr. Rajapaksa and a group of Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) members against Sirimavo Bandarnaike,” he said.

Dr. Senaratne said in politics there were no eternal enemies and the UNP was today following the concept, ‘my enemy’s enemy is my friend’. (Lahiru Pothmulla)

Rajitha is a lier. Mahinda never went against Sirimavo. It was Anura-Maithree and Chandika-Wijaya who broke SLFP. This guy is lying all the time from his BNF days to UNP days and now in SLFP. He was in BNF with Chandrika then when C went back to SLFP this guy went to UNP and slang mud at C. Then he joined MR government and slang mud at Ranil. Now doing his dirty politics from new regiume. Rajita Senaratna is a memebr of the UNP coalition. It seems tha already there is a split in the new government. UNP cannot aford to bring Rajapksa back as Rajapksa will take revenge on all the mendacity stated against him without proof at the Pesidential election.
