Austin, Ellawala new Governors

Six new Governors were appointed to Northern, Eastern, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-Central and Uva Provinces and were sworn in by President Maithripala Sirisena at the Presidential Secretariat today, the Presidential Media Unit said.

The new appointments are as follows: H.M.G.S. Palihakkara as Governor of the Northern Province, Austin Fernando to the Eastern Province, B.M.A.R. Perera to the Sabaragamuwa Province, Surangani Ellawala to the Central Province, P.B. Dissanayake to the North-Central Province and M.G. Jayasinghe to the Uva Province.
