Wisden, the unique brand of cricket publication made its entry into Sri Lanka today with the aim of providing quality cricket reading to the cricket fans in the island.
The world's leading cricket publication, which publishes the renowned Wisden Almanack, launched the Sri Lankan edition today in collaboration with Wijeya Newspapers Limited, the country's industry leader and FW Sports and Media as partner.
Apart from the flagship English site, Wisden Sri Lanka will feature affiliated Tamil and Sinhala websites, marking the first time in the world that Wisden has struck out beyond the boundaries of the English language.
From today http://www.wisdensrilanka.com/ and http://www.wisdensrilanka.com/ will fill the gap in the field of quality vernacular cricket reading in Sri Lanka.
Former England cricketer John Wisden published his first ever Almanack in 1864 and the publication grew in popularity and stature ever since to gain the highest respect among cricket fans.
Wisden annual Almanack has continued uninterrupted to the present day, making it the longest running sports annual in history.
The Wisden Sri Lanka website will be a member of the Wisden Asia Group website and will provide news, feature articles written some of the best cricket writers of the world.
Statistics, records and various other Cricket related reading material would be constantly updated to keep the Wisden fans abreast with the up to date cricket knowledge.
