A 23-year-old woman was killed when she was knocked down by a private bus at Waturegama on the Galle-Colombo Road early this morning while she was waiting at a bus halt to take a bus to Colombo, Police said.
They said a private bus travelling towards Matara had veered off the Road and rammed into a nearby bus halt.
The injured was pronounced dead on admission to the Balapitiya Hospital.
The driver of the bus was arrested in connection with the incident.

They don't know to drive in the lane. They only see spaces in the road and want always to fill it thinking it will take them faster than others. They never tolerate other people or respect other humans. Who are these drivers are they lower grade breed of some monkeys brought in from Africa ?? Who put these animals on the roads by giving them license to kill?

Owner of this bus , the driver, insurance company and the SriLankan Government should pay compensation to this girl's family.Further this driver should be charged for murder and should not be given bail.There should be strict laws to nail these moron drivers, this typee of incident can not continue to happen in Yahapalanaya.
