The Sri Lanka Navy today assisted in the repatriation of 77 Indian fishermen released from the Sri Lankan custody.
As per the request of the Indian government, the 77 fishermen who were apprehended on charges of poaching in Sri Lankan waters were released and handed over to the Indian Coast Guard Ships in the International Maritime Boundary Line North of Kankasanthurai.
SLNS Ranagaja, P 481 and Coast Guard Craft “CG 47” were deployed for the mission.
