The Colombo District Court today issued a restraining order on Sri Lanka Cricket, until March 9, against putting into operation its decision not to recruit foreign cricketers to the Premier League Cricket Tournament.
Colombo District Judge T.D. Gunasekera issued this restraining order on Sri Lanka Cricket after considering the submissions and perusing the documents submitted to court by Counsel Kaushlya Nawaratne on behalf of the Baduraliya Sports Club.
The petitioners, the president and the secretary of the sports club had cited Sri Lanka Cricket, and its officers Ashley Silva and Malan Fernandopullai as defendants.
The judge issued summons on the respondents to appear in court on March 9 and to file their objections. (T.Farook Thajudeen)
