Geetha to chair Galle DDC

Actress turned politician Geetha Kumarasinghe was likely to be appointed as the Chairperson of the Galle District Development Committee, well informed sources said today.

She has been active in the Galle District development Committee in the recent past and was seen involved in arguments with the fellow members of the Committee.

Ms. Kumarasinghe was a notable absentee at the second and third reading debate on the budget.

Sources said she was likely to back President Maithripala Sirisena and the government in the future. (Yohan Perera)

In what way this woman becomes eligible for the post should be explained to the public by the appointee. Until then it is a puzzle. Education seems to be a thing to laugh at to the Sri Lanka Govt.
