Vidyartha meet Sylvestrians

Vidyartha College and St Sylvester’s College will play for the 11th PML Banda and B Nillegoda Memorial Trophy when they meet in their annual Under 19 rugby encounter at the Bogambara Stadium today (13) September.

Kick-off scheduled for 4 pm.

Vidyartha will be captained by Pasindu Rajapaksha with the Tigers guided by Manoj Wijethunge who steps in as Head Coach for this clash. Vidyartha outfit is expected to bring speed and aggression, looking to maintain their edge in this rivalry. The outfit is managed by Upul Bandara Weerasinghe.

St Sylvester’s College will be led by Tishan Medagedera with Buddhika Abeysinghe who also shoulders coaching responsibilities for the team. St. Sylvester’s out of their six encounters won four of them ending as Plate runner up this season.

In the 10 encounters Vidyartha got a lean sweep winning all the previous encounters. Referee Jeewaka Fonseka will handle the vital encounter which will be the last under 19 encounter for the season in Central Hills.
