Vimoksha Balasooriya plays a ball to the boundary

Vimoksha Balasooriya continued her batting prowess as she hit a quick-fire 62 inclusive of ten boundaries in just 42 balls while right arm leg spinner Aseni Thalagune bagged five scalps to help Sri Lanka U-19 coast to a convincing 117 runs win over the visiting Malaysia women in the third of the five T20 encounters at the Colts ground which was their third successive win.
Sri Lanka taking first lease of the wicket was guided by four valuable partnerships with Vimoshka featuring in three, first an opening stand of 43 runs with Sanjana Kavindi and 30 for the second wicket with skipper Manudi Nanayakkara followed by another 30 runs for the third wicket with Rashmika Sewwandi.
Making 166 for 7 in 20 overs the home team had secured the match as they bowled out Malaysia for just 48 runs.
Malaysia could not make any headway against the bowling of spinner Thalagune who took five wickets for just 10 runs. The visitors lost their last five wickets for the addition of just eight runs.
The two teams will play their fourth match on November 7 at NCC ground.
