Six scorers for the LPL

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has hired the services of six scorers for the Lanka Premier League (LPL) T20 Cricket Tournament commencing at the Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium in Hambantota today.  

The six scorers are Keerthi Ranasuriya, Chinthaka Munasinghe, Chanaka Krishantha and M. C. Mohideen who will officiate on rotation and maintain main scoreboard and acknowledge the umpires’ signals. 

Meanwhile, two scorers, Asoka Chandrasekara and Asela Sandaruwan are assigned to calculate and maintain the DLS (Duckworth Lewis and Stern) system.  The winning team of the LPL will receive a cash award of US$ 50,000, according to Ravin Wickramaratne, the LPL Tournament Director. 

“We have fixed a cash award of US$ 30,000 for the runner-up team and the winning team will also get a specially designed trophy,” Wickramaratne added. 

The LPL Trophy, made in brass with golden topping has been designed by Sugathadasa Bandara and Sons (Pvt) Limited.
