Richmond in final

Unbeaten half tons by Tensha Nimsara and skipper Bevin Jayawardena helped Richmond College to record a comfortable five wicket win over Gurukula MV Kelaniya in their Under 19 Division One Tier ‘A’ limited overs tournament semifinal encounter played at the Army ground in Boyagane.

Gurukula MV taking first lease of the wicket made a modest score of 174 runs with skipper Denura Dimansith making a top score of 79.

Richmond in their run chase fell into deep trouble in the early stages of the innings at 65 for 5 before Tenusha (59) and Bevin (57) associated in an unbroken 110 runs for the sixth wicket to make it to the final.

Richmond will now meet Mahanama Colombo in the final next week.
