LPL returns in July-August

The second edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) will be conducted from July 30 to August 22, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) confirmed yesterday. 

“We have found a suitable window to hold this year’s edition, whilst we are currently working on finalising the other details of the tournament,’’ Professor Arjuna De Silva, Chairman, Management Committee of Sri Lanka Cricket said in a media release yesterday.

The first edition of the tournament was conducted from November 26 to December 16 last year, and despite receiving last minute approval, the tournament concluded without any major issues in a bio-secure environment. 
The first edition was played completely at the Sooriyawewa Stadium in Hambantota, with five franchises.
