Defending champions Kandy Sports Club will begin their Super Round campaign when they travel down to Colombo to take on CH and FC at the Race Course ground on Sunday with kick off scheduled for 4 pm.

It will be Kandy SC’s occasion to make an early statement before meeting Havelocks and CR and FC in their other Super Round games all played away from home in Colombo conditions.

Led by Tharindu Chathuranga, Kandy SC has a balanced combination of power and pace. Their forward unit has been a key strength throughout the season, providing solid set-piece ball and dominance in contact.

Kandy SC’s experienced three-quarter line has been instrumental in stretching defences, reading space and exploiting gaps with precision. Their attacking patterns combined with sharp support play, have made Kandy SC one of the most dangerous sides in open play this season.

Adding further spark is the presence of a nippy scrum Heshan Jenson half who has consistently injected tempo and kept defences on the back foot.

Dinal Ekanayake, Kavindu Perera and Sooriyabandara have been on top.

Kandy SC are also boosted by the inclusion of a foreign recruit in young Tongan forward Salesi Douglas Havea.
His physical presence is expected to add bite to the pack and further strengthen their breakdown work.

CH and FC, led by Janidu Dilshan, have enjoyed a solid campaign, suffering only one defeat while drawing against Kandy SC in the first round. With a settled lineup and strong leadership, they will pose a serious challenge, especially on home turf. Maliksha Perera, Janith Chandimal and Mohamed Absal are the other players to note.
