Wesley College will head into the 2026 schools rugby season with renewed optimism and a strong leadership group, as fifth-year player and nippy scrum half Kaizer Lye takes over the captaincy of the Double Blues.

A product of the Wesley rugby pathway, Lye has led the side at the junior level from Under-10 through to Under-16 and is widely regarded as one of the most exciting scrum halves to feature this season, with sharp service and excellent game awareness.

He will be well supported by vice-captain Nelith Hapugalla, and deputy vice-captain Pawan Thirangama.

The coaching setup remains a major strength, with old boy and former national player Terence Henry continuing as head coach, supported by Omar Kuthubdeen (Backs Coach), Shem Mendis (Forwards Coach) and Thilina Weerasinghe (Backs and Kicking Coach).
