Joes and Musaeus win badminton titles

St. Joseph’s College and Musaeus College emerged overall champions in the boys’ and girls’ categories respectively at the 53rd Junior National Badminton Championships 2025, held at St. Joseph’s College Indoor Stadium, Colombo.

The tournament, conducted by the Sri Lanka Schools Badminton Association, attracted the participation of more than 100 school players representing institutions across the island.

In the boys’ competition, St. Joseph’s College claimed the overall title by defeating Lyceum International School Wattala in the final, while St. Joseph Vaz College Wennappuwa secured third place. 

In the girls’ category, Musaeus College powered past Sujatha Balika Vidyalaya Matara to win the overall championship, with Lyceum International School Nugegoda finishing third.

The event once again showcased the depth of talent in school-level badminton, with both traditional schools and emerging institutions competing for national honours.
