Jagath to officiate in Indian Race-Walking Meet

Sri Lanka’s senior athletic technical officer Jagath Wimalaratne has been invited by the Athletic Federation of India and the Chandigarh Athletic Association to officiate in the international judges panel for the 12th Indian Open Race-Walking Championship 2025.
The competition is scheduled to be held on April 19 at Sukhna Lake, Chandigarh, India, and athletes from more than 10 invited countries are expected to participate.
Sri Lanka athletic technical committee Chairman G. L. S. Perera said Wimalaratne is the first judge from Sri Lanka to participate in this international level race walking judges panel.
In addition, the Athletic Association of India has also taken steps to invite international referees Laura Silvia (Romania) and Scott Nelson (Australia).
