Right arm spinner Vigneswaran Akash wrecked the batting of St Peter’s College in the second innings with an eight wicket haul to give St Joseph’s College the edge when play ended on day two in the Under 19 Division 1A quarter final encounter played at the Army ground in Kuruwita.
Akash learnt his cricket at Hartley College in Jaffna and crossed over to St. Joseph’s College this season.
St Peter’s were bowled out for their overnight score of 204 and St Joseph’s in their turn underwent some anxious moments but managed to end their innings with a score of 187.
