Isipathana Golden Oldies beat Old Sylvestrians  

An entertaining fifth wicket partnership of 175 runs between Amal Wanigasekera (78) and Damith Dushantha (74) both unbeaten steered Isipathana Golden Oldies to beat Old Sylvestrians Cricket Club by 59 runs in a thrilling Masters 25 overs cricket encounter played for the Saliya and Rangana Fernando Memorial Trophy at the Army ground Mattegoda last Sunday. 

Pathana Golden Oldies batting first, at one stage were reeling at 11 for 4 but Amal Wanigasekera and Damith Dushantha came together and was associated in fine partnership to restore the innings.

In reply, Old Sylvestrians Cricket Club openers Dhananjaya Pathirana and Kelum Konara steadied the innings but the fall of these two meant disaster for them as they lost wickets at regular intervals thereafter to be restricted to 127 for 9 in the 25 overs chasing a 187 target.
