Trinity College who won the inter school league rugby championship last year, came out for the first time in the new season as they opened their quest in the inter school knockout championships with a trouncing 38-8 win over Thurstan College at the CR and FC ground at Longden Place yesterday.
It was just the outcome Trinity needed for a start and showed what could be in store for teams in the new season.
Eventually Trinity were down to 13 players in the second half and completed their win scoring six tries, four of which were converted.
Thurstan raked in their points from a try and a penalty.
