Activists of the Telephone party are said to be in high glee that their recent anti-government protest in the city was a great success.

However, a section of party front-liners are said to be worried that two party heavyweights had apparently boycotted the event. One of them is said to be a leader from the upcountry and the other one an imperious personality from Kelaniya.

Meanwhile, a rumor said later, that the twosome had kept away due to their vulnerability to coronavirus given their old age. However, the stalwart from Kelaniya is said to have made his appearance in a minor protest held close to his hometown. But the other one had not even stepped out of his home, they say.
