Minister of Ports, Shipping, and Aviation, Nimal Siripala de Silva, recently inaugurated the Enquiry Centre of the Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA), bolstering the capabilities of the Port of Colombo. The port serves as a crucial hub and international trade and shipping center, maintaining continuous operational activities.

The SLPA Enquiry Centre aims to provide expedited and convenient information about port services for both local and foreign customers connected with the Port of Colombo. Additionally, it serves to educate and inform the public about port operations.

Operating daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., the center facilitates access to port service information through the hotline 1984. This hotline proves especially convenient for individuals involved in import, export, and shipping activities. Furthermore, those interested in maritime, shipping, and port sectors, or seeking information related to these fields, can access pertinent information via the hotline.

For additional information, individuals can visit the SLPA Enquiry Centre at No. 15, Lotus Road, Canal Yard, Colombo 01. Alternatively, inquiries can be submitted via email at [email protected]. At the inauguration, the Minister made the first call to the hotline and emphasized that the service, linked to international ports, offers prompt access to up-to-date information in the realms of trade, shipping, and ports.
