We told the truth about the economy while Govt. hid it: Dr. Haniffa

Samagi Jana Balawegaya Colombo mayoral candidate Dr. Ruvaiz Haniffa said his party told the truth about the country’s economy while the present NPP government is trying to hide it.   
Speaking to the Daily Mirror, senior medical professional Dr. Haniffa said his party never hid the economic difficulties that the people had to undergo.
“We told you we are not going to lie. We told you your electricity bill is not going to come down for a reason,” Dr Haniffa said adding that the government had been forced by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to increase the electricity tariff.  
“We told you the truth, you didn’t believe us, that is normal, you know, because people don’t like the truth, they want shortcuts. Don’t take shortcuts, do the correct thing for the correct reasons,” the Colombo mayoral candidate stated.
