Passenger arrested for sexual assault of two air hostesses

An air passenger who sexually harassed two air hostesses inside a plane flying from Singapore to Katunayaka was arrested yesterday by the Airport Police. The 38 year old suspect was a resident of Athurugiriya.   

Police said the suspect had consumed liquor excessively during the flight and sexually harassed the air hostesses. The pilot had informed the Air Port control room on the incident and that the Security officers of Sri Lankan Airlines had arrested the passenger when the plane landed at Katunayake. Later he was handed over to the airport police for further investigations. The JMO Negombo General hospital who examined the suspect and reported that he was under the influence of liquor. The suspect was to be produced before Colombo Chief Magistrate yesterday. Adtl. OIC Airport Police CI Jeewaratne conducted investigations.
