The National Institute of Plantation Management (NIPM) is set to host the 4th International Symposium on Sustainable Plantation Management (ISSPM 2025) today (20), at the Marino Beach Hotel, Colombo.
The event will bring together global experts, researchers, scholars, and industry professionals to discuss and share innovative approaches in sustainable plantation management under the theme “Sustainability of Plantation Industries.”
Minister of Plantation and Community Infrastructure Samantha Vidyarathna, will attend as the Chief Guest, while Prabath Chandrakeerthi, Secretary to the Ministry, along with other senior government officials, will also grace the occasion.
ISSPM 2025 aims to serve as a prestigious platform for intellectual exchange and international collaboration, featuring a rich programme that includes keynote speeches, panel discussions, academic paper presentations, awards ceremonies, networking opportunities, and a symposium dinner.
This marks the fourth installment of the symposium, with previous editions held in 2018, 2020, and 2023. The success and high demand from both national and international academic communities has prompted the NIPM to continue the initiative, reinforcing its commitment to fostering research and development in plantation management on a global scale.
The symposium is expected to contribute significantly to the global discourse on sustainability in agriculture and plantations, and to strengthen partnerships across academia, industry, and policy-making sectors.
