Awareness on rational use of antibiotics held for Batticaloa pharmacists

A special awareness programme on the theme ‘Rationale use of antibiotics and good pharmacy practices’ was held targeting pharmacists in Batticaloa last week, where representatives from over 60 pharmacies across the district participated.   
Eminent speakers from the area health sector including Regional Director of Health Services, Batticaloa Dr. R. Muraliswaran, Consultant Microbiologist and Senior Lecturer in Microbiology Dr. V. R. Francis, former Chief Food and Drug Inspector National Medicines Regulatory Authority Amith Perera, President All Island Private Pharmacy Owners Association (AIPPO) Batticaloa M. Szuthakaran and Regional Food and Drug Inspectors from RDHS Office Batticaloa S. Thevaneshan with W. Wimalasekaran addressed the programme.   
The event was held at the Riviera Resort in Kallady organised by AIPPO Batticaloa with the backing of Tabrane Pharmaceuticals (Pvt) Ltd. Colombo 05.
