A bank manager arrested for treasure hunting

A group of seven suspected treasure hunters including a Samurdhi Bank Manager in Wanathawilluwa were arrested for digging up a treasure in a land at Bandaranayake Pura in Wanathawilluwa.The suspects included the owner of a nearby house and a 20 year old exorcist were residents of Kalpitiya, Wanathawilluwa, Puttalam and Sirambiadiya areas. Police said the suspects had dug up a 20 ft deep pit in search of a treasure before the police carried out the raid. A rooster, which was to be sacrificed, and a host of tools and equipment had been seized during the raid.  
A police team under Wanathawilluwa police CI Sumudu Senanayake had carried out the raid.
