The 190th Birth anniversary commemoration of philanthropist and the founder of Prince and Princess of Wales Colleges, Late Charles Henry de Soysa, will be held today (March 3).
High Commissioner of the United Kingdom to Sri Lanka Andrew Patrick and former Chief Justice of Fiji Anthony Gates will attend the event as chief guests.
Two relatives of late Charles Henry de Soysa, Principals of the two colleges and members of the alumni will also participate the event. The ceremony will commence at 4 p.m. at the statue of late Charles Henry de Soysa with laying of a wreath by the chief guests and garlanding the statue by two children of the family members and head prefects of the two schools.
Chief guest Anthony Gates will deliver the key note address at the commemoration event that will be held at the Baptist Church Hall. The commemoration programme will conclude with fellowship and refreshments.
The ceremonies at the Prince of Wales and Princess of Wales Colleges will be held in the morning.
