Twenty five MPs sign No confidence motion against Keheliya Pro-government MPs among them

  • MPs Kumara Welgama is among the pro-government MPs who signed the motion
  • SLFP General Secretary Dayasiri Jayasekara said his party is yet to decide

Around 25 MPs including some of those who have voted in favour of the government on various instances, signed the no confidence motion against Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella yesterday.  


MPs Kumara Welgama is among the pro-government MPs who signed the motion.  


TNA MP Selvarasa Kajendran also signed the motion on behalf of his party while the National People’s Power led by the JVP is also expected to back the motion.  
Others who have signed the motion were Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa, Rajitha Senaratne, Chandima Weerakkody, Ranjith Madduma Bandara, Lakshman Kiriella and Hesha Vithanage.


SLFP General Secretary Dayasiri Jayasekara said his party is yet to decide on its stand on the motion.  

Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) General Secretary Ranjith Madduma Bandara said the opposition group led by Dullas Alahapperuma is also expected to back the motion.
