The Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Colombo, in partnership with Turkish Airlines and Jetwing Hotels organised an evening of exquisite chamber music performed by the String Quartet of the Anadolu University Symphony Orchestra recently, at Jetwing Colombo Seven.
Established in 2006 by the artists of the Anadolu University Symphony Orchestra (ASO), the String Quartet initially performed under the artistic direction of Çagıl Yücelen, soloist of the Presidential Symphony Orchestra. The members continued their chamber music studies under Prof. Dr. Ozan Evrim Tunca and frequently feature guest artists in their performances.
The evening’s program included works by Alexander Glazunov, Ulvi Cemal Erkin, and arrangements of traditional Turkish folk songs by Oguzhan Balcı.
