Colombo, March 12 - US President Donald Trump claimed that the US military has sunk 46 "top-of-the-line" naval ships, including an Iranian warship, off the coast of Sri Lanka, since the war with Iran started, while recalling that how US military officials thought it was "fun" to sink them rather than capturing it.
Speaking at a recent rally in Hebron, Kentucky, Trump casually recounted a conversation with military brass regarding the operation, which was part of a broader, escalating US-Israeli military campaign against Iran.
Detailing the military operations, Trump highlighted the close cooperation between the United States and its Israeli partners. He claimed that this coalition is currently "crushing the enemy" through an overwhelming display of technical skill and military force. According to the President, the strikes have been highly effective, resulting in Iran's drone and missile capabilities being utterly demolished.
A significant portion of his remarks focused on the sheer scale of destruction inflicted upon the Iranian Navy. Trump stated that the Iranian Navy is entirely "gone," claiming that US forces knocked out 46 ships in just three and a half days, leaving them at the bottom of the ocean. He also recounted a casual conversation with military officials regarding the strategy. After being told the destroyed ships were "top of the line," Trump claimed he asked why the US didn't simply capture the vessels for its own use. According to the President, officials responded that it was "safer" and "more fun to sink them."
Beyond naval assets, Trump asserted that the Iranian leadership structure has been severely degraded. He noted a rapid turnover in enemy ranks, stating that primary terrorist leaders were eliminated, followed quickly by their replacements. The campaign has been so swift, he claimed, that nobody currently has any idea who is in charge of the country, and he vowed that the US will not relent until the enemy is totally and decisively defeated
