'Law must take Its course’: King Charles III responds after his younger brother arrested
Britain’s monarch, King Charles III, has publicly reacted to the arrest of his younger brother, Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, stating that the law must be allowed to take its course. His remarks came just hours after UK police took the former prince into custody on suspicion of misconduct in public office amid renewed scrutiny linked to the Epstein files.
The King described the situation as deeply troubling and confirmed that the royal family would cooperate fully with the ongoing police investigation. His response marked one of the most direct acknowledgements yet from the monarchy regarding the latest development in the long-running controversy surrounding Prince Andrew.
In a statement, the monarch said, “I have learned with the deepest concern the news about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and suspicion of misconduct in public office.”
He added that the law must be allowed to follow its proper process and emphasised that the royal family would support the authorities as required. The statement was issued the same day Prince Andrew turned 66, adding further weight to an already dramatic development.
