Iran says Hormuz open for commercial vessels after Lebanon ceasefire

April 17 : Iran on Friday said the Strait of Hormuz has been opened to all commercial vessels for the remaining duration of the ceasefire, stating that the move is in line with the Israel-Lebanon ceasefire agreement.

In a post on X, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi wrote, “In line with the ceasefire in Lebanon, the passage for all commercial vessels through Strait of Hormuz is declared completely open for the remaining period of ceasefire, on the coordinated route as already announced by Ports and Maritime Organisation of the Islamic Rep. of Iran.”
