India says it has enough coal stocks to meet power demand

A crane is used to unload coal from a cargo ship at the Deendayal Port in Gujarat (Reuters) - India has adequate coal ‌stocks available at its mines and power plants, with stocks ⁠sufficient to generate power for 24 days, a government official said on Wednesday.

The overall coal ‌stocks ⁠in the South Asian country was at 220 ⁠million tons, the official added.
