UNP invites Sajith to re-join the party

• One must not be shy to return to his or her ancestral home
• Many UNP members who joined SJB have started coming back to UNP

UNP yesterday tendered an open invitation to Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa to re-join the fold. 

This invitation was made during a press conference of party seniors Deputy Leader Ruwan Wijewardene and General Secretary Palitha Range Bandara last afternoon.  

“We invite Mr. Premadasa to come back to his former ancestral home (Maha Gendera) and join us to save the nation from the present crisis. One must not be shy to return to his or her ancestral home,” Mr. Range Bandara said.  

“This is a genuine invitation. We would also like to remind you that he got into politics because of his father who was a UNPer. Mr. Premadasa and his sister were able to go abroad for studies as their father was the Prime Minister of the UNP government,” Mr. Range Bandara said.  

Mr. Wijewardene said many local government members who joined SJB were coming back to the UNP.
