Popular songstress Neela Wickramasinghe passes away in Italy

President, Sri Lankan Musicians Association Keerthi Pasqual told Daily Mirror that Ms Wickramasinghe died in Italy.  

Ms. Wickramasinghe (71) was the Consulate General Milan at the time of her demise.  She became a household name in Sri Lanka with popular hits such as Viyo Gee from the film Gehenu Lamai directed by Sumithra Peiris, Boime Viharaye, Pemaka Suwanada Denila in the movie Dolos Mahe Pahana, Yaluwe Sithin Handanna Epa and Dawasak Da.  

She also song ‘Master Sir’ which was originally sung by Nevile Fernando in the movie Kalu Diyadahara directed by late Manik Sandrasagara.
