Housing and Urban Development Minister Prasanna Ranatunga tabled in Parliament last week two audit reports containing details related to the alleged frauds committed during the time of Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa as the then subject minister, a statement from the Ministry said.

The reports contain details related to the alleged frauds in the alienation of lands and disbursements of housing aid between 2017 and 2019 in the Weeraketiya area of the Hambantota District.

Minister Ranatunga did it during the committee stage debate of the budget.

He said there are investigations in progress related to the posters and commemorative supplements printed during that period for propaganda of housing projects.

“There are still posters valued more than Rs.30 million lying idle at the Housing Development Authority,” he said.
