Couple burnt to death

The bodies of a young couple that had died of serious burn injuries was recovered on Saturday (01) from a house at Nelliyakadu by the Valvettithurai police.  The victims were S.Ranjith Kumar (31) and his wife Ranjith Kumar Krishanthini (28).  

  Ranjith Kumar’s father and mother who were in the adjacent room had shouted for help from the neighbours who rushed to the scene and doused the fire only to find the couple already dead.   

Preliminary investigations revealed that the fire had sparked off from a plug base with a cellular phone connected to it for charging, had ignited a can of petrol which was nearby.   
The Valvettithurai police are conducting further investigations.
