Two jumbos die on top of each other

Police and the Wild Life officers commenced investigations after two wild elephants were found dead on top of each other at Batumulla in Hasalaka this morning.

The Police said that they suspected the elephants died due to electrocution after trampling on an electric code laid around a farming land in the area.

However, they also said the cause of the death could only be revealed following a post-postmortem examination. (Pix by Ranjith Karunaweera)
