Foreign cigarettes destroyed...

A consignment of foreign cigarettes worth Rs. 852 million, seized by Sri Lanka Customs while being smuggled into the country, was destroyed at the Muthurajawela Power Plant. The 5.5 million counterfeit cigarettes, imported from Cambodia under false declarations for re-export to Somalia, were seized in 2023.
